Have you ever had tried to reconcile a subsidiary ledger to its corresponding General Ledger control account, only to find out that a user entered a journal entry against the control account? Fortunately, newer versions of Microsoft Dynamics GP provide a setting in the account screen that prevents users from entering a transaction to an account without authorization.
To set this up, you will need to do the following:
• Go to Cards > Financial > Account.
• Select the General Ledger account.
• Click off the Allow Account Entry setting.
• Save the record.
Using this tip you can better leverage General Ledger as a tool for managing your business and avoiding problems.
