Need Multiple SAs? Microsoft Dynamics GP

There are times when other people may need the powerful rights of the SA (System Administrator). However, handing out the SA password means it needs to be changed to re-secure the system. Here is an alternative.

In the SQL Management Studio (or Enterprise Manager if using an older version of GP) find the User ID of the user needing SA rights. Add that user to the SysAdmin role of SQL. That's all it takes! Now this user has all the rights of SA and can set up users, etc. When these rights are no longer needed, simply remove this user from the SysAdmin role in SQL.
